Join us for the 5th Annual Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, a powerful week dedicated to education, advocacy, compassion, and community impact.

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program where people come together across the country to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness. Participating groups spend the week holding a series of educational, service, fundraising, and advocacy events.

Locally, the Conference will engage in a week of daily activities to educate the community, advocate for change, and raise funds to help those facing hunger and homelessness in the Lehigh Valley.

MONDAY, November 16th

vIRTUAL EVENT: EXPLORING AFFORDABLE HOUSING MODELS

Join us for a virtual panel discussion during Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week 2026 as we explore innovative and practical models for affordable housing. Hear from experts, advocates, and community leaders as they share insights, challenges, and solutions aimed at addressing the growing housing crisis.

TUESDAY, November 17th

Hands of hope: street outreach day

For the third year in a row, our Street Outreach team is offering an exclusive opportunity to experience a day in the life of a street outreach worker. Selected community members will accompany the team as they visit local campsites to distribute meals, supplies, and provide support to those in need.

This unique experience is limited to just 10 participants. To learn more or get involved, please contact Street Outreach team member Marina Patterson at mpatterson@lehighchurches.org.

wEDNESDAY, November 18th

VCLV Nonprofit Impact Conference (H&HA Week Track)

We are thrilled to partner with the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley for their 3rd Annual Nonprofit Impact Conference on Wednesday, November 18, from 7:45 AM–3:45 PM.

This year’s conference theme is “Strengthening Nonprofits Driving Community Impact.”

As part of our official Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week programming, we are excited to announce that the conference will include an exclusive H&HA Week track. Our Executive Director, Abigail Goldfarb, will also be featured as a guest speaker.

tHURSDAY, November 19TH

Community Art Showcase with the Allentown Art Museum

The Conference has partnered with the Allentown Art Museum for a five-part art series. Over the past several months, members of our Daybreak Drop-In Center have participated in hands-on art workshops, creating a variety of unique pieces.

We are excited to host a community art showcase at the Allentown Art Museum from 5:00–7:00 PM, where organizations, community members, friends, family, and supporters are invited to celebrate the creativity and accomplishments of our Daybreak members.

The event will include light refreshments, community partner/vendor tables, an art showcase, a live performer, and an opportunity to donate nonperishable food items upon arrival.

We hope you will join us in supporting our Daybreak members and celebrating their artwork!

Dine & Donate with Jay’s Local

The Conference has partnered with Jay’s Local, a community-focused café in Allentown, for a Dine & Donate event in support of our mission.

Stop by Jay’s Local between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM to purchase food, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Conference. During the event, The Conference will also have a resource table available to share information about our programs and services.

Throughout the month of November, Jay’s Local will also host a nonperishable food donation bin to support our Street Outreach team.

SATURDAY, November 21st

5th annual: One night without a home

Join us for One Night Without a Home, an immersive 12-hour experience designed to raise awareness about the realities of homelessness. The event begins Saturday, November 21, at 7:00 PM and concludes Sunday, November 22, at 7:00 AM.

As part of our 5th Annual Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, we’ve set a community goal of raising $5,000, with all proceeds benefiting our Street Outreach Team.
