DAYBREAK: 24, 161 meals served in 2011! A drop-in center primarily for people in treatment for mental illness with 300 members who receive educational, recreational, self-empowerment, pre-vocational, job training, and nutritional supports and services.
34,858 meals served in 2011! The Conference of Churches Soup Kitchen is a safety net program with the primary objective of feeding hungry men, women, and children. All of our hungry neighbors can receive a nutritious, well-balanced meal, satisfying their hunger and improving their diet. Each of these clients, living below federal poverty standards, will have increased their capacity to meet their basic food, shelter and healthcare needs by the end of the meal because these free meals give strength and conserve their scarce dollars.
